TITLE: Financial Analyst
RESPONSIBLE TO: Director, Member Health and Compliance
DIVISION/DEPART.: Member Advancement Department
SUPERVISES: N/A
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Responsibilities

 Conduct financial analysis of Goodwill members in support of cross-functional efforts to improve member financial and operational performance
 Assist in managing projects identified to strengthen the financial health of the membership.
 Build and maintain internal and member-facing dashboards to identify trends and risks related to success metrics
 Working across the Analytics, IT, and other business teams, optimize the use of Tableau reporting by managing Tableau Prep data flows, roles and access, and dashboard development and delivery.
 Support member compliance reporting as required by the GII Continuing Organizational Membership Standards Policy

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES - All duties are considered to be essential, unless otherwise indicated.


Member Health Review/Data Visualization
 Collaborate with business leaders across the organization to understand internal reporting needs, analyze data, use measurement techniques, identify KPIs, and build reports/dashboards to address business questions.
 Monitor key financial and operating indicators for Goodwill members individually and as a network; perform research to provide insights on trends and potential risks, and develop
curate and review reports.
 Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau to monitor and visualize network financial and operational performance against success metrics.
 Work directly with the Director, Member Health, and other Member Advancement Team members to strategize, organize, and execute on projects designed to strengthen the membership through data and insights.


Compliance
 Conduct review of all governance documents submitted to ensure they meet requirements and coordinate with the Director, Member Health and Compliance with any concerns or
follow-up activity
 Develop and maintain relevant and timely content on member intranet MyGoodwill to support members with compliance requirements
 Maintain all membership standards compliance and territory records


Member Capacity Building
 Assist in organizing informational resources for webinars, podcasts, newsletters, inperson seminars, GII-sponsored conference sessions and seminars, MyGoodwill resources (GII’s Intranet) to support members.
 Update content on MyGoodwill on behalf of the Member Advancement Team.


RELATIONSHIPS:

 Internal: Daily contact with GII team members and work as a member of the GII team across departments.
 GII Members: Regular contact with Goodwill member organizations to provide support and assistance.

Qualifications

 Basic Knowledge of the principles and practices of nonprofit financial management,
 Proficiency visualizing, designing, and developing reports and dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
 Research, analysis, and information-management skills aided by curiosity, big-picture thinking, and the ability to meaningfully find and connect new information.
 Interfacing of Tableau Dashboard with external portal and applications.
 Strong experience in writing, including but not limited to drafting reports, articles, and summaries of notes from meetings.
 Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
 The ability to work both independently and as a team.
 Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
 Attention to detail as necessary to produce high quality work.
 Ability to work efficiently and effectively in high intensity, deadline driven situations.
 Interest in advancing Goodwill’s mission of improving prospects of low-income families and special populations such as persons with disabilities.
 Proactive, creative, and flexible, with a service-oriented approach to work.
 Willingness to travel, if needed.


EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, data science, business analytics, economics, or a related field or relevant experience.


EXPERIENCE:
3 or more years’ relevant industry experience in financial anaylsis, business analytics, business intelligence or comparable role. Experience in developing dashboards and reports, including gathering business requirements and delivering based on project timelines. Experience with forecasting techniques and methods preferred.


DECISION MAKING:
Latitude is given to the position in carrying out work assignments.


SUPERVISION:
Capacity to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams with other MSC staff. Works with general supervision.


PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Medium with lifting 50 pounds maximum with periodic lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds; may be accommodated. Requires some travel.


EMOTIONAL EFFORT:

Moderate. Occasional short deadlines. Work environment periodically hectic with occasional to frequent periods of high stress.
