TITLE: Digital Skills Program Specialist

This position is supported by a grant, and continuance is dependent upon on-going grant funding. This position can also be locted at the Member Services Center is Rockville, MD or remotely.
Google.org and Goodwill® announced the launch of the Goodwill Digital Career Accelerator SM. Funded by a $10 million grant from Google.org and with the assistance of 1,000 Google volunteers, the new Goodwill initiative will equip more than one million people to receive vital digital skills training over the next three years that will enable them to become more marketable and advance in today’s labor market. Digital skills are the gateway to the future of work. Goodwill is excited and energized by this opportunity and Google.org’s support and investment in this initiative.
1. Engage local Goodwill organizations and partners to support and strengthen systems that equip people with digital skills for career success.
2. Support and assess local Goodwill organizations’ progress to plan and provide technical assistance to equip them to meet programmatic and fiscal goals.
3. Advance Goodwill Industries International’s digital skills objectives.
1. Help advance local Goodwill organizations’ digital skills and career navigation goals by engaging and equipping them to establish or enhance partnerships with community colleges or other credentialing partners, community based organizations and businesses to prepare youth and adults for digital career success.
2. Convene stakeholders and partners to facilitate programmatic and fiscal progress to plan, timely course corrections, desired results and reports on the same.
3. Assess local Goodwill organizations’ performance and spending relative to plan, provide technical assistance as needed and document effective practices.
4. Lead performance data collection and analysis and deliver customized reports to local Goodwill senior leaders, GII leaders and other audiences as approved.
5. Collaborate in designing and conducting at least two on-site learning events each year.
6. Collaboratively develop and deliver regularly scheduled and periodic informational, promotional and instructional webinars for Goodwill organizations.
7. Document local Goodwill, community college, business and other partner systems and effective practices to support digital skills training replication and refinement.
8. Curate, adapt and produce online digital skills resources to help equip local Goodwill organizations.
9. Design and deliver training and technical assistance to equip local Goodwill members and their partners.
10. Contribute to Goodwill digital skills attainment strategy by identifying, refining and supporting deployment of pathways for persons served and employed by local Goodwill organizations to complete market-valued credentials.
11. Leverage technical assistance from other GII team member to ensure success.
12. Help foster a culture that advocates for hard-working families who are meeting their financial needs.
13. Other duties as assigned.
Internal: Daily contact with GII team members to coordinate projects and support activities.
GII Members: Frequent contact with Goodwill organizations.
External: Contact with the partner organizations, GII funders, and others as designated.

I. Strong digital skills including Microsoft Office, G suite and on-line presentation systems.
J. Demonstrated ability to used automated systems and mathematic operations to analyze programmatic and fiscal performance.
K. Ability to travel as needed.
EDUCATION: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business management, social or human services, or education; master’s degree preferred. Specialized knowledge required in specific areas relative to assigned function.
A. Two or more years project or grant management experience including managing data systems and budgets.
B. Experience supporting project operations with multiple locations.
C. Experience working with partner.
D. Two years’ experience providing consultation services to groups or organizations.
E. Experience designing and delivering face-to-face and virtual presentations and training.
F. Experience working or partnering with community college(s), businesses/industries and/or other credentialing organizations preferred.
DECISION MAKING: Ability to work independently and make decisions aligned with general program goals, objectives, and policies. Decisions on scheduling projects and determining priorities.
SUPERVISION: Regular – Latitude is given to the position in carrying out its work assignments. Work is checked regularly for accuracy and completeness. Works under general supervision.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Sedentary, lifting 10 pounds maximum. Walking or standing is required only occasionally. Requires long hours at a computer. Requires frequent travel.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT: Work environment usually hectic with periods of high stress. Requires a positive attitude to meet daily challenges.
